The Embrace pillar focuses on creating a positive volunteer culture where people feel genuinely valued, appreciated and recognised for the time, skills and commitment they contribute to the club. Reward and recognition do not always need to be financial—simple gestures such as saying thank you, celebrating achievements, acknowledging milestones, recognising volunteers through club communications or awards, and creating opportunities to socialise can have a significant impact.

When volunteers feel appreciated and know their efforts make a difference, they develop a stronger sense of belonging and pride in the club. A culture of recognition increases volunteer satisfaction, strengthens engagement, improves retention and encourages volunteers to continue contributing while inspiring others within the community to get involved.
